Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as painless or minimal to slight discomfort. To ensure your comfort, two rounds of topical anesthetic are applied—once before and again during the procedure. The anesthetic cream is absorbed quickly, effectively numbing the area for the client’s comfort.

How long does the procedure take?

The length of the procedure varies based on your individual brow needs and desired results. On average, the treatment can take anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the complexity and customization required for your brows.

How long does the healing process take?

The skin typically completes its full healing process within 30 days, following a full cycle of skin regeneration, but your procedure areas will appear and feel normal within 15-20 days.

When will I see results?

The results are visible immediately, but the final “healed” results won’t be fully apparent until 20-30 days after your first appointment. During this time, your strokes may fade, shrink, and heal unevenly, which is why a 2nd "Perfecting Touch-Up" appointment is essential for achieving natural, refined results.

What is the difference between Microblading and a Tattoo?

A tattoo, is a dark permanent ink deposited into the dermis, the second layer of the skin, making it permanent. Tattoo artists use a machine to perform this procedure. Microblading, is a manual technique that deposits a semi-permanent pigment into the top layer of the skin, the epidermis. This semi-permanent procedure lasts 1-2 years, with its duration varying based on your skin type and how it retains the pigment.

Are there different color options?

Absolutely! Each client receives a customized experience, tailored to their brow shape, hair growth pattern, and preferred color. The pigment is chosen to complement your natural (or desired) hair color, and can easily be adjusted to achieve the appropriate shade.

How can I prep my skin for it?

For the best results, keep your skin exfoliated and well-moisturized! It's also important to avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements before your microblading session, as they can increase bleeding during the procedure. While it's optional to wear makeup, it's not recommended, as you’ll need to keep the treated area dry and free from water for the first 24 hrs.

What if my skin is oily? Is Microblading for all skin types?

People with oily skin are still great candidates for microblading! However, because of the skin's natural oil production, the pigment may fade a little faster, and the strokes could appear slightly thicker, or may blur over time. While the results may not last as long as on other skin types, the effect will still be a noticeable improvement and far better than no enhancement at all!

Why do some brows fade to Red or even Grey?

In simple terms, "brown" isn't a true color on the color wheel—it’s a combination of red, black, and yellow. Over time, yellow fades first, leaving behind red and black. Several factors influence this, the balance of red or black in the pigment, your skin tone, and the ingredients in the pigments. Just like with any permanent makeup, regular color touch-ups are essential to maintain the desired look in microblading.
